Transforming the story, CHARLES’ CHOICE, I recorded in a studio years ago in an Oshawa studio into script format adds a new dimension not just to the story, but to the writing experience.
Award-winning novelist Carol Shields shared how writing the dialogue for her first play versus a novel challenged her, but I am finding the experience the opposite … writing the dialogue comes easier to me than some of the straight writing I do, but I gather that is because the books I have written lately are non-fiction, which don’t include dialogue.
As a result of a school and community problem, Charles, a school principal decides, opposing conventional methods, to tackle the problem with something new hoping to not only address the one current problem, but many others also.
The play, CHARLES’ CHOICE, presents the Connecting The Dots With The Respect Principle concept at the beginning of the play, then further drives the message home through a series of scenes involving a diverse cast of characters who heard the talk. The play can be used alone or in conjunction with other Connecting The Dots With The Respect Principle books, products, and services in a school curriculum or as an organization’s ethical foundation.
PUBLISHING / PURCHASING STRUCTURE
The ebook, CHARLES’ CHOICE, will be available soon through the ebook retailer and distributor, Smashwords.
But to meet the challenge of people not producing the play without buying production rights, the ebook will not contain the Connecting The Dots With The Respect Principle talk.
Instead, people desiring to produce the play for their school and/or community, will be able to purchase the required production script copies directly in paper or downloadable formats.
The Connecting The Dots With The Respect Principle talk will be provided separately as part of the contractual agreement.
Stay tuned for further details and the release date!
