NOVEMBER … The IMPORTANT MONTH for Democracy and Humanity

This month, November 11th, we remember and honor those who fought for freedom in the past with Remembrance Day.

This month in the present and for the future, Americans vote on November 6th, to show the world what they value most.

And our own Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, had this to say about democracy and freedom in his book … “I made it clear that the Liberal Party needs to be a liberal party. By that I meant that the core values of liberalism–equality of economic opportunity and diversity of thought and belief, which I see as the building blocks of individual freedom, fairness, and social justice–ought to be cornerstones of the Liberal Party and its policies. I said that we needed to be a party that stood up for people’s rights to have a real and fair chance at success, regardless whether they were born rich or poor, where they come from or what, if any faith they professed.

It’s one thing to say these things in the abstract, it’s quite another to put them into practice.

Personally, I think diversity is Canada’s greatest success stories.

“An Anathema to Democracy … Donald Trump” or the other title “Democracy … The Referee” What do you think?

Revealing himself to be an anathema, not only to what the United States represents, but to what democracy represents … hope and freedom … not despair and fear … iconoclastic Donald Trump is not a leader of and for the people, but like any dictator, a leader only for the people he, in his personal opinion, has deemed valuable or worthy of respect.

Based on the concept, Connecting the Dots … with The Respect Principle, that all people, all humanity is to be valued … respected simply for being a life … Trump’s philosophy is a setback to all of humanity that would catapult the country and  all those whom the country impacts into a replica of other dark times in history when one comes into power with such prejudicial beliefs.

We don’t even have to go far back in history to see the horrible impact such self-centred people inflict.

Hitler took out 11 million people through lies, false promises, condemnations, hatred, and ultimately revealed his own fear that the world does not have enough abundance for everyone so he stole from anyone he could … but in the end, he discovered as many do, the wealth he accumulated by stealing from others and the control and annihilation of those whom he did not like or approve of could not compensate for the darkness that lived inside him … and died with him.

That Donald Trump has even gotten as far as he is in his quest, not to lead, but to take control, is a wake-up call for the United States of America and us all … revealing we still have much work to do before we will co-create global peace by raising all of our “Respect Levels” for ourselves and for all those we share this world with.

And the other ramification of the chaos and dissent Trump is stirring up, is the division it creates, opening doors with an open invitation to those opposed to democracy and their fights to be in control … the dictators.

If politics is the arena to share, even vent one’s beliefs publicly, with the goal to seize power and control, then democracy is the referee to ensure a fair game is played so no violent, corrupt or even disrespect acts are allowed in the game … because we are growing wiser about the consequences we all pay when bullies, terrorists, and dictators reign.
